Cutting Practice!

While you are home, you probably won't be using scissors as much as you would in art class.
Let's fix that!!
Ask an adult for scissors first!!
Here are some ideas for different grades

Kindergarten

Adults can draw lines on paper for them to cut.

Straight, zig zag and wavy.
Junk Mail works great for this and thicker paper is a bit easier than newspaper.

First Grade & Second Grade

Students can draw shapes and animals on scrap paper. Carefully cut the shapes out the best you can. Stay as close to the lines you made.

Third Graders

Do you remember how to make our kirigami snowflakes?

4th, 5th & 6th Graders

You can make some kirigami mandalas!!
Check out my video on how to do it.
No origami paper required, use what you can find!

Don't forget to hang your creations in your windows for others to admire when they are out on their walks!!
